The 33-year-old singer showed up to support MISTR’s first-ever National PrEP Day celebration held at The Abbey in West Hollywood on Thursday, October 9th.
One night, Lovato jumped into the DJ booth with Diplo to perform her latest song, “Kiss,” which debuted on Friday, Oct. 10, along with the music video. “Let’s be safe, have fun, and flirt with MISTR!” she told the crowd.
Additionally, Dua Lipa, who just finished a four-night tour in Los Angeles, took to the stage at the event to sing and dance to her hits “New Rules,” “Don’t Start Now,” and “Houdini.”

Thursday’s rally was the culmination of a 10-day national campaign to get 10,000 new people on PrEP by Friday, October 10th. PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), taken as a daily pill or twice-yearly injection, has been shown to reduce HIV infection by 99 percent.
Tristan Shoecraft, founder and CEO of MISTR, told PEOPLE, “We can end HIV. We have the tools. Taking PrEP is about taking control of your own sexual health in the same way that oral contraceptives for women were introduced. By taking PrEP, you are actually playing a role in ending the epidemic.”

On the blue carpet during the event, Lovato told Getty why it’s important for her to participate in the National PrEP Day event to raise awareness.
“MISTR does great work for our community, and everyone should have access to health care and be able to afford it, especially when it comes to life-saving drugs like PrEP,” she said. “It’s so important that we talk about sexual health so that we can take care of each other, and the queer community is doing a great job in that regard.”
Lovato added of the event, “It’s so inspiring to see people educate, entertain, and uplift each other. That’s what we all need to do right now.”
The singer-songwriter, who married singer-songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Roots in May, has already released two other singles, “Fast” and “Here All Night,” from her upcoming album, “It’s Not That Deep,” which will be released on October 24.
