Deaks Bentley and his wife, Cassidy Black, have not slept in the same bed for years, but not to give it a try.
The country star confessed to being a “terrifying sleeper” in an episode of the “Bobby Cast” podcast on Tuesday. “How was my wife sleeping last night? And we won’t sleep in the same room anymore,” he said.
Elsewhere in the interview he said, “So many years ago, I decided to separate the church and the state and remove our beds, and I have two platform beds, two box springs and two mattresses.”
Bentley explains that they each have their own duvet, “There are clear lines. You can see the floor between her bed and me. It’s like a separate suspension.”
He continued. “Why do you have a truck with leaf springs when you can have an independent suspension? So she can move around everything she wants.
Bentley recently lamented that his wife, who has been in nearly 20 years, has completely escaped from the room.
“Recently, she’s just that kind of animal, and it’s awful,” Bentley leaked. “She’s sleeping on the couch now,” in a “extra room” at her Nashville home.
“Even last night, it seems we’ll have to get this back on track when we get it back on track,” he shared. “We were able to go back to the same room.”
“Gold” hitmaker 49 lamented how quickly his wife (49) can also fall asleep, but he “must be located exactly and accurately.”
“I’m just thinking about the process of falling asleep and suddenly she’s going to jerk,” he explained.
“I said, ‘You have to make a joke with me. Are you already out?’ She’s already asleep like that.
The longtime couple, who tied the knot in 2005, shares daughters Evalyn Day and Jordan Catherine along with their son Knox.
Bentley is not near the first celebrities to acknowledge such an arrangement. 79-year-old diva Bette Midler and “Shark Tank” character Barbara Kolcolan (76), confessed that she was sleeping in a separate bedroom from her respective spouses.
“My husband snores,” Midler told Entertainment Tonight in 2024. She and Martin von Hasselberg were married in 1994, and the singer said that their decades-long union secret was that they split up at bedtime.
Corcolan told Jenna Bush Hager during her 2024 appearance on the “Today” show that she and her husband Bill have a “another bedroom” “like 40 years.” The arrangement “sex is short,” she later said on “The Jamie Kahn Lima Show.”
Sarah Paulson, 50, believes in a completely separate residence due to her lasting relationship with Taylor, Holland. “We don’t live together, that’s kind of a secret,” she said on a 2024 episode of the “Smartless” podcast.
“Today” co-host Carson Daly admitted that the secret of his successful marriage was a “sleep divorce.”
“It was good for us,” he said of him and his wife, Siri Pinter.
