It was Dax Shepard’s first public appearance since his wife Kristen Bell received backlash for her “tone-deaf” anniversary post.
On Friday, Shepard was seen riding a dirt bike without a helmet.
The 50-year-old actor wore a blue T-shirt, dark denim jeans, and a baseball cap for the fun outing.
This new sighting comes just days after the 45-year-old actress went viral after posting a questionable 12th wedding anniversary tribute.
“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me, ‘I will never kill you. Many men have killed their wives at some point. Even if I were strongly motivated to kill you, I would never kill you,'” she wrote to her husband, along with a photo of them hugging.
Shortly after the post was published, many critics pointed out that the “No One Wish This Happens” star was making light of murder during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
“This is a very sad and insensitive statement considering it’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month and thousands of women are losing their lives at the hands of men they trusted…” one user reacted.
“Kristen, there’s no way you’re posting this during Domestic Violence Awareness Month 😭,” another wrote.
“Dateline” also joined the chat and commented, “I was screenshotted.” Later, a national advocacy group accused her of downplaying domestic violence in her wedding anniversary post.
“There is nothing funny about domestic violence ‘jokes’ that trivialize the very real fear, trauma and pain that millions of victims and survivors face every day,” a representative from the National Network to End Domestic Violence told Page Six in a statement Tuesday.
However, a few supporters defended the “Frozen” star, calling the critics “too sensitive.”
The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star has yet to address the backlash. Since then, Bell has limited his comments on social media, skipped a scheduled interview on the “Today” show and ignored the controversy during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday.
The “Veronica Mars” star married the “Parenthood” actor in October 2013, and the couple are parents to daughters Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 10.
