Waverly Place star David Delby and his wife, Julia Delby, wizard spills all the details of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding.
Two days after Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, tied the knot in California on September 27th, Julia shared a photo on Instagram with David, 53, from her wedding weekend, writing, “Love is a word.” She then posted several videos on her Instagram story, detailing her “celebration of love” and her “surreal” experiences with her fiancé. That “highlight” was speaking to the previously confirmed Swift 35.
“Speech, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift gave speeches. It was great, mostly Taylor,” Julia said.

In the evening, Swift approached Julia and David. The “Cruel Summer” singer praised Julia for the dress during the approximately 10-minute conversation.
“She walked in while waiting for Serena to get married. She came straight towards us because she knew Jennifer (the stone),” recalls Julia. “When she came in, all these other people were already there, but it was like the heavens were opening and the angels were coming down, and that was her.
Starring as the father of Alex Russo, the wizard of Waverly Place on Disney Channel from 2007 to 2012, and as the father of Gomez’s character, Jerry Russo, Jerry Russo, the father of Gomez’s character, was added to one of Julia’s Instagram stories.
Julia explained that details of Gomez and Blanco’s wedding were kept “a long, pretty secret” after she and David were invited. In the end they were told the exact date and were able to choose two hotel options.
“We knew we would be picked up at a certain time at one of those hotels, and then we’ll go straight to the wedding,” she said.

She then said the wedding venue, a “palm tree nursery,” (she tagged Seacrest nursery in her post), was “gorgeous.”
“The efforts they put in, the wedding planners, the way they set this all up – that was insane,” she said.
She added that dancing at weddings is “amazing” thanks to the “great” live band.
“We danced so much. It was amazing. We danced right next to Rizzo and right next to all the other celebrities,” she said.
She regretted not bringing an organization to the wedding because the ceremony was so emotional.
“As soon as Serena walked in, she walked down the aisle by her granddad and I began to cry,” Julia said.

It was an unbeatable ceremony because “people weren’t allowed to bring their phones to their weddings or later parties.” According to Julia, “You’ll get there, they’ll have your phone and put it in a small pouch, and you’ll get the number and pick it up later.”
“It’s one of those things that made it so magical, and this whole experience,” she continued. “Because you didn’t think about it.”
