If you want to be a family, you have to get along.
David and Victoria Beckham are desperately trying to mend their long-standing estrangement from their eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.
According to an article published in Wednesday’s Cut, sources close to the family claim that the soccer player and Spice Girls alumnus Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz have continually offered to meet up in any state they wish.
The source claims that the parties, whether lawyers, Peltz’s family, therapists or mediators, are pushing for a relationship.
However, in January, Brooklyn, 27, released a scathing statement in which she revealed that she is not looking to get back together.
“I don’t want to reconcile with my family,” the aspiring chef wrote on Instagram at the time.
The star went on to claim that there was bad blood brewing even before she married Peltz in 2022, citing her parents’ distaste for influencers.
In a bombshell social media post, Brooklyn accused her parents of controlling the narrative about her family to the press “throughout their lives” with “histrionic social media posts, family affairs, and fake relationships.”
Brooklyn also confirmed an earlier report from Page Six that Victoria “ruined” their wedding day by stealing the spotlight on the dance floor.
“My mom hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned for weeks to a romantic love song,” he wrote.
Victoria and David, who are also parents to sons Cruise and Romeo and daughter Harper, have not yet addressed Brooklyn’s allegations, but they continue to show their love and support for her on and off social media.
Last month, the fashion designer and athlete each posted birthday tributes to Brooklyn on Instagram, with David writing, “We love you” beneath the photo dump.
Meanwhile, the couple isn’t the only family feeling Brooklyn’s absence.
During a performance at London’s Courtyard Theater in March, Cruise wiped away tears as he sang “Loneliest Boy,” a song by his band Cruise Beckham & the Breakers, which appeared to be inspired by his relationship with his older siblings.
In footage obtained by the Mirror, the 21-year-old sings “The loneliest boy, I hope you hear me” to a crowd that includes his parents. “Please stop pushing all your friends away when we’re trying to show you our love.”
