‘Danny Go!’ star Daniel Coleman revealed details of his son Isaac’s heartbreaking illness in his last post before his death at the age of 14.
The YouTuber took to Instagram on April 23 to share a collection of tender family photos of himself with his wife Mindy and sons Isaac and Levi.
“It’s been a while since we took a family photo! Thank you so much @blueamberphoto for taking our photos…and the bonus costume session Isaac was dying to get 🩵,” she captioned the photo.
At the time, Danielle told her followers that she had not updated Isaac’s battle with stage 3 oral cancer for “a while” because it was “still difficult for me to process and talk about.”
“The rough update is that his cancer continues to progress and his energy levels are very low,” he added. “We are currently in the midst of a short course of palliative radiation therapy to slow the growth of a large mass under his right eye, but we have transitioned to an overall comfort-oriented approach for him.”
Danielle said her son had a hospice team “to help with the pain” and that the family was “just doing our best to make sure he lived as happy and peaceful a life as possible.”
He acknowledged that he and his wife were “heartbroken to watch our son decline. We know how frustrating and scary this must be for him,” but wrote that they are “trying to get through everything and continue to enjoy the time we still have with him.”
Among the family photos was one of Daniel hugging Isaac, smiling and kissing his son on the forehead.
The social media star shared the news of her son’s death via Instagram on Friday.
“Oh my sweet baby,” he wrote alongside two snaps. “There are so many things I want to say, but I don’t know how yet. I miss you so much already and the pain in my heart is more than I can handle. But as I look at the thousands of photos and videos this past week, I am also filled with great pride.”
She added that her son’s “14 years have been filled with so many challenges, but you faced them all with grit…and somehow retained your trademark joy despite it all.”
“You were truly one of a kind, Isaac! It brings me so much comfort to remember how much you were loved and how fulfilling your time here was. Being your father was the honor of a lifetime.”
“I’m so proud of you and love you forever. Rest in peace, son,” he concluded the post.
Daniel — quit his job at Lowe’s in 2021 to focus on a career on YouTube and started “Danny Go!” Two years earlier, in 2009, he married Mindy, and two years later, in 2011, he welcomed Isaac.
