In May, shortly before their split was announced, Johnson spoke to ELLE UK a bit about her dating experience.
“I think the whole concept of this movie is so interesting because it’s so foreign to me,” she said. “I’ve never dated anyone. I’ve had boyfriends, but I’ve never used a dating app. I just don’t know that world. So it was very interesting and intriguing to me. It’s the most beautiful side of being human, but it’s also the ugliest side. Loving someone is the scariest thing a person can do, and it’s also a beautiful thing.”
In November, a source told People magazine that Johnson was ready to start seeing new people again.
“[She]is slowly starting to date again and is happy,” the source said. “Her relationship with Chris was often hot and cold. She always hoped things would work out for them, but she seems to feel lighter and more at peace now that their relationship is final.”
In December, rumors surfaced that Johnson was meeting a musician role model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury. Although neither of them has admitted that they are dating, there is no end to the reports of sightings. Here’s their complete relationship timeline so far:
December 2025
On Dec. 29, TMZ posted a photo of Johnson and Role Model attending a candlelit dinner with friends at a restaurant, with a source saying Johnson was “all laid out cuddling up over a cozy dinner.”
January 2026
The actress and musician allegedly had a phone call together in 2026. Johnson reportedly hosted a New Year’s Eve party for friends and family, with role models also in attendance. A source who spoke to Entertainment Tonight said they were “inseparable” at the event.
“Dakota hosted a New Year’s Eve party and she and Role Model were inseparable the entire night,” a source said. “They were kissing, dancing and cuddling. They looked incredibly happy, cute and wonderful together.”
Johnson’s mother, Melanie Griffiths, was also present and seemed “totally comfortable” with her role model.
On January 15, DeMoy posted a video reporting that Johnson and Role Model had gone to Marvin’s restaurant in Los Angeles the night before and had dinner together there.
