“We’ll Bury the Dead,” the upcoming apocalyptic zombie thriller starring Daisy Ridley found homes in the UK and Ireland.
Written and directed by Zach Hilditch (1922) the film was acquired by Neon International’s Signature Entertainment. Earlier this year, Dizziness purchased North American rights.
The survival thriller follows Ava, a desperate woman whose husband is missing in the aftermath of a devastating military experiment. Hoping to be alive, Ava joins the “body recovery unit”, but her search turns calm as the body buried begins to show signs of life. Alongside Ridley, the film stars Brenton Thwaite (“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Dead Men Don’t Know the Story”), Mark Coles Smith (“The Last Cab to Darwin”), and Matt Whelan (“Narcos”).
The feature is produced by Anna Nora Bernstein (“Our Hero”, “Balthazar”), Ross M. Dinarsstein (“Giro Dreams of Suci”, Mark Fasano (“Bad’s Land”), Joshua Harris (“Mary”), Kelvin Munro (“I’m a Mother”) and Grant Sptore (“Legacy”). The deal was negotiated between Signature’s Chief Commercial Officer Elizabeth Williams and the president of Kristen Figueroid’s Neono International, international sales and distribution.
“‘We Buri the Dead’ was immediately appealing thanks to its commercial genre, excellent performance and high quality production value,” Williams said. “We are excited to bring it to our UK and Irish audiences after a success with “magpies” last year and work with Neon along with Daisy Ridley. ”
Added Figeroid: “Signature remains a reliable partner for us in the UK and we are excited to see how their team brings this film to UK audiences.”
