Cynthia Erivo stepped up.
The “Wicked: For Good” star was captured on multiple eyewitness videos rushing to protect co-star Ariana Grande when she was attacked by an enthusiastic fan at a premiere in Singapore on Thursday.
The “Side to Side” singer, 32, was signing autographs when a man climbed through the blockade and ran past the photographer toward Grande.
He put his arm around the Grammy winner’s shoulders and began bouncing up and down as co-star Michelle Yeoh looked on in horror.
Before security could arrive at Grande, Erivo lunged towards the “Victorious” alum and attempted to push the fan away.
The man was then arrested by multiple bodyguards.
The terrifying moment was captured in multiple fan videos, which showed Erivo, 38, comforting Grande in the aftermath.
Social media users, via X, praised the Tony winner, calling him “so fast” and “has faster reflexes than multiple adult male security guards.”
“Security needs to hire Cynthia who never played,” one person tweeted.
Another woman added: “She said, ‘She’s not participating in my surveillance.'”
The fan, who identified himself as Johnson Wen, has performed similar stunts in the past with A-listers including Katy Perry and The Weeknd.
He proudly shared a video of his latest viral moment on Instagram, writing, “Dear Ariana Grande, thank you for letting me ride the yellow carpet with you ❤️.”
“I finally met Ariana Grande tonight,” Wen gushed on her Story, before declaring to her followers that she was “free after being arrested.”
Representatives for Grande and Erivo have not yet responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Since filming began on Wicked in 2022, the actresses have forged a strong bond and made headlines for their love-filled press tour.
“(We) can’t stand it, you know,” Grande joked to Variety in December 2024. “We’re terrible. We’re the worst. We’re the most annoying. … Cynthia is just an absolutely glorious gift of humanity.”
As for Erivo, when she spoke to Elle last month, she credited the “tough conversations” and “vulnerability” to their close friendship.
“That’s what makes a relationship. That’s what brings you closer,” the Broadway star explained in a November 2024 interview.
