Winners continue to roll in during a live broadcast from UBS Arena in New York on September 5th, but 8pm (5pm ET/5pm) has been announced.
Rapper Busta Rhymes and singer Ricky Martin have already been declared winners, and this year’s Artists are claiming their first MTV VMA Rock The Bells Visionary Award and first MTV Latin Icon Award, respectively, to break the boundaries of their musical genre.
Lady Gaga leads VMA 2025 nominations in a whopping 12 major categories, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Album. The show began with her acceptance of the Artist of the Year Award prior to her performance at Madison Square Garden. Bruno Mars is working with Lady Gaga on the hit “Die a… a Smile” to catch up right behind her with an 11 nod.
Other frontal candidates include 10 Nom’s Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter and Blackpink members Rose, Ariana Grande, Weekend, 7, Billy Eilish, and six, Weekend. Charli XCX has five nominations derived from her summer summer, while Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Tate McRae each have four.
LL Cool J hosts VMAS2025 and will air on CBS and MTV and stream on Paramount+.
