Naomi Watanabe is coming to America and Canada.
The comedian has confirmed dates for his “From Tokyo” North American tour. This will be her first full English tour.
“The last few years have brought a lot of big changes for me both as a person and as a comedian. I can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to with audiences across North America,” Watanabe said in a statement Tuesday. “This tour would not have been possible without the love and support of our fans in the US, Canada, Japan and beyond. Thank you. We can’t wait to see our friends old and new on tour this spring.”
The tour kicks off on April 17th at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and concludes on June 13th in Vancouver, British Columbia after 17 shows.
Watanabe first gained attention in Japan in 2007 with his sketch comedy and original characters. She eventually moved to New York City and launched her podcast “Naomi Takes America” in 2023, along with an accompanying seven-city live tour. She made her English stand-up debut in 2024, Stand Up with Naomi Watanabe, which sold out two performances at New York City’s Gramercy Theater within an hour. She is also scheduled to headline a solo sketch comedy show in Japan in 2026.
Earlier this year, Watanabe provided the voice of the Ambassador in the English and Japanese versions of the Disney Pixar film Elio.
“From Tokyo” tickets will be available from Citi’s pre-sale starting December 3rd. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week prior to general sale on naomiwannabe.com starting December 5th at 10am ET/1pm PT.
