Colombian singer Eison Jimenez has passed away. He was 34 years old.
According to newspaper El Colombiano, the “Vete” singer was involved in a plane crash around 4pm on Saturday while taking off from a small airfield in Paipa, Colombia.
The plane, which included the pilot, co-pilot and Jimenez’s photographer Wiseman Mora, burst into flames.
Moments before the crash, Mora shared a chilling video of the small plane and its pilot preparing to take off.
They were on a flight to a concert in Medellin, Colombia, when tragedy struck.
Jimenez’s family announced his death on Instagram, writing, “Today we say goodbye not only to an artist, but also to a son, brother, friend, and a man full of dreams and courage who made his story a source of hope for thousands of people.”
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority.
Jimenez revealed that leading up to his death, he had a premonition that he might die in a plane crash.
“Three times I had a dream that the plane crashed and I had to tell the pilot to turn back,” he told Colombian news agency Caracol last month.
“And when he arrived, he said, ‘Oh, boss, I’m glad you told me there was a problem, but I fixed it, so come in.'”
The “MLP” singer added, “It was a dream. In one of those dreams, I dreamed that we were dead and on the news. And it was the third time I had that dream. God gave me three signs, but I didn’t understand them, I couldn’t understand them.”
Jimenez also said he recently experienced an emergency landing while on board a plane.
“The plane was taking off. As it was taking off, I felt something puff, puff,” he said, explaining that he felt the plane shaking.
“There was no speed, there was no climbing,” the hitmaker added.
At that time, Jimenez’s cameraman also saw water coming from the engine.
Jimenez is survived by his wife, Sonia Restrepo, and three children.
