Crawford, 59, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE on Friday, January 9, at the 2026 WWD Style Awards in Santa Monica, California. Supermodel Crawford, who is married to one of George’s best friends, Rande Gerber, spoke about how their relationship has changed since George met his wife, Amal Clooney.

“He was never going to get married. And then when he meets Amal and realizes that she’s the one, all of a sudden they’re talking about kids. So it was fun to see… He just took a little bit longer than the others, but he’s fully a father and a husband now. He’s amazing,” she added.
George, 64, and Lande, 63, have been friends for decades and founded Casamigos Tequila in 2013 with real estate developer Mike Meldman. They famously sold the brand for $1 billion in 2017 and have remained openly involved in its marketing ever since.

George met Amal, 47, a prominent human rights lawyer, in 2013 through a mutual friend.
“That’s the wildest thing. A mutual friend of ours said, ‘I’m just stopping by, can I bring my friends?'” And I was like, ‘Of course,'” George said, recalling their first meeting when he appeared on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman in 2018.

“My agent called me and said, ‘I met a woman who’s coming to your house, and I’m going to marry her.’ The funniest thing was, my mom and dad were visiting, so my parents were there too, and we just talked and talked all night,” he added.

After the wedding, George met Amal and spoke candidly about how getting married had changed his life.
“All I know is that in some ways everything has changed in terms of what I thought my future, my personal future, was going to be,” he told PEOPLE in 2015. “But I’ve always been an optimist about the world. I wasn’t always completely optimistic about what was going to happen personally. But I am now.”
The couple welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in June 2017.

In a February interview with The New York Times, George admitted that he had never really thought much about becoming a parent until he met Amal.
“(I was) not in the market to be a father… Then I met Amal and we fell in love. I have to say everything made sense after that,” he said.
