Cillian Murphy’s son is making a name for himself in the industry.
The Oppenheimer star’s 17-year-old son Alan has joined the cast of the new HBO/Sky co-production WAR, which also stars actors Dominic West and Sienna Miller. Alan’s talent agency shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of the teenager who bears a striking resemblance to his father.
This is Alan’s first TV series, but not his first movie. Murphy and his wife Yvonne McGuinness’ son starred in the 2022 film Lola and will also appear in Taika Waititi’s upcoming Clara and the Son alongside Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.

Like Alan, Killian and his wife are also parents to son Malachy.
In March 2024, the Irish actor walked the red carpet at the 2024 Oscars with McGuinness and his two sons Malachy and Alan.
In photos from the event, Murphy was seen walking hand-in-hand with his wife in front of their teenage sons, who were wearing the same black tuxedo as their father. The actor, who later won the Best Actor Award for his role in the movie “Oppenheimer,” smiled as he walked with his four family members.
In January of the same year, Murphy expressed his gratitude to his wife and sons when he accepted the Desert Palm Lifetime Achievement Award (actor award) at the Palm Springs International Film Awards.

Murphy admitted, “I don’t get to do things like this very often, so I want to express my gratitude to my family,” and went on to express his gratitude to his wife and children.
“Two-thirds of them are sitting there. I had to leave one of them at home for the exam,” the actor said. “But thank you for putting up with me. For putting up with the half me and the shadow me and the absent me and the rest of me when I’m doing a movie like this and work in general.”
“You guys are always there. I love you. So, thank you guys,” he added.
He has also revealed in the past that he and McGuinness are trying to give their sons a normal personal life.
Murphy told the Guardian in 2016: “I don’t know, but they seem to be more adjusted than I am. I’m confident in myself.” “I’m happy with that. For me, that was something that took me a long time to understand: It’s okay to be you, it’s okay to be an individual.”
