Ciara shares her secret to feeling sexy.
The R&B sensation rocks many titles: superstar singer, mother of four, and style icon, but when it comes to her fashion-forward “fit,” she reveals to PEOPLE one “goal” at the heart of them all. “When it comes to fashion, make a statement with your actions,” Ciara, 39, exclusively tells PEOPLE at True Religion’s Wrapped in True party on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in New York City.
Ciara is the face of the brand’s holiday campaign. And among the many roles the “Level Up” singer takes on, she embraces them all wholeheartedly, managing to stay true to her personal style despite the variety of different jobs.

“I’m very much a tomboy. I’ll always be a tomboy,” she declared at a late-night event in the members-only Crane Club Lounge.
But the multi-hyphenate campaign star, who rocked head-to-toe True Religion in celebration of the holiday collection, knows how to level up her tomboyish energy and simultaneously heighten the sexy vibe beyond the baggy menswear she often favors.
“But there are times, like tonight, when I wear form-fitting pants,” she said of the leg-hugging denim from the brand’s Holiday line, adding, “And it makes me feel a little bit sexy, just saying!”

Ciara wore pieces from three signature drops from the holiday campaign. Give True (featuring bold, elevated essentials), Zero Chill (adorned with statement outerwear with after-the-moment energy), and Iced in True (packed with holiday soirée staples), all available to shop now.
For the evening’s outfit, Ciara styled a Sherpa aviator jacket ($170) over a black tank and paired it with a Joey low-rise flared jean ($114.80). She wore big brown boots covered in fur to bring the look home.
Still, Ciara further cemented her claim to being a self-proclaimed tomboy, but no matter what, she added a special CiCi glow.

“No matter what you do, there’s always some edge and fun,” she said. “I try to add a little pop of fun to everything I do, and I think you always want to stand out as much as possible.”
“Sometimes you can stand out in simple ways,” she continued. “It doesn’t have to be the most dramatic fashion moment to stand out, but always make a statement in whatever you do when it comes to fashion. That’s always been my goal.”

That’s what makes Ciara the blueprint for True Religion’s “Wrapped in True” campaign. Needless to say, the chart-topping artist’s long-standing love for the brand dates back to her teenage years, when she discovered her love for fashion.
“Being part of this campaign is very nostalgic for me,” she said. “I remember when I was little and trying to level up and strive for my fashion…and truth (religion) was definitely a staple in my closet.”
“I think all of us girls remember the iconic horseshoe on our butts,” Ciara continued about the brand’s signature logo, which has remained true to its bold, authentic heritage since its launch in 2002.
“It’s part of a dream come true to be able to be with such an iconic brand that has meant so much to my life from a fashion standpoint since I was a young woman,” she said, adding, “So I’m really excited and so proud to be a part of this special moment.”
