Christopher Woodrow has been appointed chairman of the board of directors for Eli Roth’s Horror Section. In his new role, Woodrow will work with Ross and CEO John Schnard to shape the company’s strategic vision and drive growth. He will lead efforts to secure critical investment capital and identify high-value strategic partnerships.
Woodrow is founder and chairman of Media Capital Technologies (MCT), a leading media and entertainment investment company, co-chair of Row K Entertainment, MCT President Raj Singh, US theatrical distribution company and subsidiary of MCT, launched in August ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival.
In early 2025, MCT partnered with Ross to launch the Horror Section, a 360 media company focused on building robust intellectual property libraries and creating the world’s best horror brands. Produced by Woodrow and Singh alongside Ross and Kate Harrison, Ross’ “Ice Cream Man” has been scooped up at Cannes this year by international buyers and is scheduled for a wide range of theatrical releases in 2026 via the horror section. MCT provides strategic support across corporate finance, project finance and day-to-day operations management.
This weekend, at TIFF, the MCT and The Horror section announced that they would fund and produce Ross’s upcoming film, “Don’t Go to That House, Bitch!” Rapper, songwriter, producer, media personality and actor Snoop Dogg produces the film, writing and producing the original soundtrack for the film. Ross and Snoop will be produced alongside Woodrow and Sinn.
“Chris is an incredible partner and I am honored to have him as chairman of our board. His business insight and creative instincts make him the perfect leader in growing this company into a power brand,” Ross said. “I enjoy working with Chris and his incredible team and are excited for the next few years as I grow the company in everything from production to merchandise, gaming, and live events.”
“The horror section has gotten off to an incredible start and has experienced substantial growth. I’ve always been an ELI fan and it’s been a great opportunity to play with him earlier this year,” Woodrow said. “We funded ‘Green Inferno’ over a decade ago and first worked together when we produced it with him. We are excited about the company’s future as we expand our business to industry leaders over the next few years. ”
Woodrow has funded and produced more than 50 feature films over the past 20 years. This includes the best photo winners, “Birdman,” “Black Mass,” and “Hacksaw Ridge.” His film received 16 Academy Award nominations, won six, and increased the global box office revenue of over $1 billion.
MCT is a media and entertainment investment company founded in 2019 and focuses on structured finance, corporate transactions and venture incubation. The company manages investment vehicles and operates a portfolio of principal investments.
MCT is supported by a variety of institutional investors, including MassMutual, which gained the company’s interest in 2021.
MCT has been Lionsgate’s Primary Rate co-funding partner since 2023. The company has invested in over 20 films in the studio, including “Saw X,” “Flight Risk,” and “Ballerina,” by John Wick Spinoff. Future titles include “Long Walk,” “Good Luck,” and “The Housemaid.”
