James McAvoy will join former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston and Marvel alum Benedict Wong in Sky drama Mean Time.
Based on the novel by Frankie Boyle, this six-part crime thriller follows addict Felix McAveety (McAvoy), who is suspected of murdering his best friend in a Glasgow park. Felix enlists the help of a detective turned crime novelist played by Josette Simon and a deranged friend (Jamie Mitchie) as he attempts to clear his name despite his drunkenness and paranoia.
Eccleston and Wong’s roles have not yet been revealed.
Also starring Mark Bonner, Shona McDonald and Shirley Henderson.
Directed by John S. Baird, the series is produced by Happy Tramp North and Expectation (Alma’s Not Normal, Malice) in association with Sky Studios. Boyle and Neil Webster adapted the novel.
