Christine Davis admitted he was caught off guard when it was announced “and so that way” three seasons later.
The Charlotte York actress told Drew Barrymore on a daytime show on Tuesday that she and her castmates were “undoubtedly true” that the HBO series is coming to an end.
“The commitment we made was a three-year commitment to each other, so we knew that part, but I thought we were just trying to keep going, that’s how I did,” she said.
The 60-year-old Davis rep was not immediately available on Page 6 for comments.
Last month, showrunner Michael Patrick King revealed that the sequel to “Sex and the City” revival was abruptly over.
He shared a statement while writing the season three finale, “It has become clear that this could be a great place to stop.”
King said the Carrie Bradshaw portrayer and Sarah Jessica Parker declined to release the news until the final episode wrapped on August 14th that “we don’t cover up watching the season and enjoying it.”
Davis and Bradshaw appeared in the drama alongside Cynthia Nixon, who played Miranda Hobbes.
The big woman lamented the show’s ending via Instagram in August, and Davis said, “I’m deeply saddened. I love our beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans work hard on our show in Deeprab.”
Meanwhile, Parker struck the “joy, adventure, and the greatest hard work” that took to film the show.
“I’m better off every day I’ve spent with you. It’ll be forever before I forget. Thank you for everything,” wrote the “Hocus Pocus” star.
Nixon shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot, saying the show is part of the new, wonderful, middle-aged incarnation of “Sex and the City.”
The show explored the trio’s characters navigating aging, alcoholism, death and gender.
In particular, Kim Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones in the original series, did not revive her role in “AJLT” due to her feud with Parker.
However, the actress made a cameo in the finale of her second season.
