Christina Ricci slammed Megyn Kelly for downplaying Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.
“There’s definitely a difference between a 5-year-old and a 15-year-old,” the “Yellowjackets” star shared on his Instagram Story, according to a screenshot taken by BuzzFeed.
The next slide features excerpts from a recent interview with journalist Batya Unger Sargon on Kelly’s podcast of the same name, in which he discussed the House Oversight Committee’s release of Epstein’s emails.
“I know someone very close to this case, and in this person’s view, Jeffrey Epstein was not a pedophile,” Kelly argued.
“He wasn’t interested in 8-year-olds, but he liked younger kids, like teenagers. There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old,” the quote continued, reshared from @betches_news.
Ricci, 45, further weighed in on her Instagram Story, writing, “This woman is a danger to children.”
Representatives for Mr. Kelly did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Elsewhere on the aforementioned podcast, the Fox News alum claimed that “the whole thing is just disgusting.”
“I’m not trying to make excuses in any way. I’m just giving the facts,” Kelly, 54, said.
“He wasn’t interested in eight-year-olds,” she continued. “But he preferred very young teenage types who looked younger than they actually were, but looked legitimate in the eyes of passersby.”
Mr. Kelly went on to say that he had “certainly been hearing about the disgraced financier for years,” but earlier this year, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the FBI had found “tens of thousands of videos of Mr. Epstein with children or child pornography or with child pornography” on Mr. Epstein’s computer, which the FBI is investigating.
“For the first time, I thought, ‘Oh, no, he was a real pedophile,'” Kelly said.
Kelly said of Bondi’s comments on the video, “She never came clean,” adding, “I don’t know if that’s true.”
Kelly’s comments sparked an immediate wave of backlash on social media platform X.
“SiriusXM needs to fire Megyn Kelly now!” one person wrote in response to a clip of Kelly’s comments.
“I want Megyn Kelly to say this to the 15 year old victim’s face. Look her in the eye and tell her it’s not that bad,” said another X user.
A third person wrote: “15 year olds are kids. So disappointed in you.”
Epstein died by suicide in August 2019. He was found in a New York cell while awaiting trial on notorious charges of sex trafficking of minors.
As for Kelly, this is certainly not the first time she’s brought up controversial topics on her podcast. In recent months, she’s also claimed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are likely to lose their titles, slammed Sydney Sweeney’s transparent dress that went viral on the red carpet, and labeled Jennifer Lopez an adult entertainer for her steamy summer performance.
