And just like that…Chris Noth retracts his viral diss of Sarah Jessica Parker.
The actor claimed via Instagram on Wednesday that it was “a little sarcastic” for him to respond affirmatively to a fan’s question, “fk SJP…right?”
“Looks like my casual, slightly sarcastic reaction to a comment on the internet caused a huge uproar in the teapot,” the 71-year-old captioned his photo. “That’s not news.”
He added: “There’s no point in debating all this. It’s a waste of time when there are more important things in the world to worry about.”
Representatives for Parker have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment.
Mr Noss’ supporters praised his “class act” response, with some claiming he didn’t need to apologize for being a “sassy queen”.
The controversy began on Friday when North posted a photo of himself at the gym with the caption: “Happy New Year – Let’s go!!!”
One fan, referring to Parker winning the 2026 Carol Burnett Award two days earlier, asked, “You mean SJP and her award, right? lol.”
North replied, “That’s right.”
In particular, he and Parker co-starred as Mr. Big and Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, which aired from 1998 to 2004 and was later made into two films.
Their characters were married when the spinoff And Just Like That… premiered in late 2021, but Noss’ character was killed off and his finale cameo was cut after two women came forward with sexual assault accusations.
The alleged assaults occurred in 2004 and 2015, the latter while North was married to Tara Wilson, and both claims the encounters were consensual.
“It’s hard not to question the timing of these stories. I’m not sure why these stories are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women,” he wrote at the time.
Parker and co-stars Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kristin Davis stood by the alleged victims to “share their painful experiences.”
Two more women have since made similar accusations.
In May 2022, Parker told The Hollywood Reporter that she has not been in touch with her former on-screen lover since the news broke.
Mr. North belittled Ms. Parker in August 2025, when he appeared to be taking sides in her long-running feud with Kim Cattrall.
He wished Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones on the HBO show, a happy birthday through a comment on Instagram.
