She’s got “AE,” baby.
Cher, 79, fended off criticism about her 40-year age difference with boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards, 39, in an interview on “CBS Morning” on Tuesday.
“Whatever,” she told interviewer Gayle King in response to potential critics. “They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what’s going on between us, but we’re just having fun.”
The singer added that age was also not an issue for Edwards, saying the music executive told her, “You’re old, but young in spirit.”
The singer gushed about their three-year romance while sharing how they were “always laughing.”
“I just love him,” she raved. “I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. One of the most talented people I’ve ever met.”
The “Believe” hitmaker’s comments come weeks after an eyewitness told Page Six that she and her much younger boyfriend were spotted looking “very much in love” when they showed up at Alan Faena’s new hotel in West Chelsea.
On October 10, the couple attended the private opening of the installation “Amaze, Vogue, Ascend, Flourish” commissioned by Faena Art in New York.
Cher and Edwards arrived at the event hand-in-hand, only to break up so Cher could serve “cerato” ice cream to guests with Giampaolo “Giapo” Grazioli.
“Cher and her boyfriend are very close and stuck together… They seem very much in love and happy together,” a source told Page Six at the time.
“She was very energetic and playing with her friends and boyfriend. She felt excited and free all night.”
The two were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles in November 2022, and their romance first surfaced.
She then made her red carpet debut at the Versace Fall 2023 Fashion Show in March 2023 with a PDA-filled entrance.
Cher previously defended her relationship with Edwards shortly after making it social media official in 2022.
Via X, the singer hosted an online Q&A, telling one of his followers, “Let me explain…I don’t give (flying) FKs like everyone thinks.”
“I’m not defending us. Haters are going to hate… It doesn’t matter that we’re happy and don’t bother anyone.”
