Chase Strokes posted two Instagram Stories today, hinting that his on-off relationship with Kelsea Ballerini is over for good. In his first post, he referenced recent reports that Stokes and Ballerini had reconciled, writing, “Don’t believe the media.” “I’ve been blocked. I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m sorry ❤️ I tried.”
Both Ballerini and Stokes no longer follow each other on Instagram, suggesting one may have blocked the other.

In a second post, he added, “Sorry to those who believed in us. It is what it is. Onwards and upwards.”
Ballerini did not respond to Stokes’ comments. Earlier this week, Stokes criticized Ballerini’s fans on TikTok for making negative comments about her and her co-star and ex-girlfriend Madeleine Cline. Fans believe Ballerini’s new Mount Pleasant song, “Emerald City,” is about the insecurities Ballerini felt about the relationship between Cline and Stokes. “These comments are so fucking weird. Grow up,” he wrote.
On September 14, the singer’s representative confirmed that she and Stokes had broken up. A few weeks later, rumors of a reconciliation sparked when they were seen holding hands in Croatia, where Stokes was filming Outer Banks.
On Nov. 10, a source told Us Weekly, “Kelsey and Chase are giving their relationship another shot. There’s still a lot of love left in them, so it’s been a very organic return to their relationship.” Another source told the same media on the same day, “(They) never stopped communicating after a short breakup. (They) got back together.”
Around the same time, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the pair had been on and off in private since their breakup, saying, “They really want things to work out, but Kelsey is a little hesitant about coming back full time.”
Ballerini and Stokes dated for about three years before their initial breakup. In September, sources close to the ex-couple told People that they broke up after trying to work things out. “They are two adults who tried their best to make it work, but in the end they couldn’t. These things happen.”
On September 22nd, a source told Us Weekly that Ballerini broached the topic of their breakup, saying, “It was a tough breakup. They’ve been arguing a lot lately, and their communication hasn’t been great in the last month. They’re both traveling a lot and trying to juggle everything, so the arguments just kept coming.”
The source added that they were “mature adults and both understood that they needed space. There’s still a lot of love between them,” but added that Stokes and Ballerini are just “very busy right now.”
