Charli XCX may have responded to Taylor Swift’s diss track, which she made a cameo on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.
Charlie, a 28-year-old role model, performed his hit song “Sally, When the Wine’s Gone” on Saturday’s episode, and midway through the performance Charlie was introduced as his “Sally.”
The 33-year-old singer strutted on stage wearing a leather miniskirt, sunglasses and a T-shirt that read “Max’s Kansas City.”
Given that Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, many viewers wondered if the top was a subtle response to Swift’s song “Actually Romantic” from Life of a Showgirls about their alleged feud.
“KC’s T-shirt…oh, little Chihuahua, you’ll manage,” one fan wrote via X, quoting lyrics from “Actually Romantic.”
Another fan wrote, “How much (how much) has Charlie been walking around and talking about Taylor? She’s too old for this.”
However, others refuted the speculation, pointing out that the role model wore a similar shirt in an “SNL” promo earlier this week.
“Charli
Allegations of drama between Swift and Charli escalated after “Life of a Showgirl” aired on October 3rd.
Fans believed the “Cruel Summer” singer was overshadowing Charli’s “Actually Romantic,” which bears a striking resemblance to the DJ’s song title “Everything Is Romantic.”
“When I drink coke and get brave, I hear you call me ‘boring Barbie,’” the 14-time Grammy winner sings on the song.
Fans believed the line was a direct criticism of Charlie, who has gone public about his alleged drug use in his music.
Charli was an opening act for Swift on her Reputation tour in 2018, but things appear to have changed after the singer started getting close to Swift’s ex Matti Healy.
The “Boom Clap” singer also married Healy’s bandmate George Daniel in 1975.
Swift previously praised Charli’s 2024 album Brat, saying she was “blown away” by Charli’s music and telling Vulture that her work is surreal and original.
In February, “Fortnite” was seen dancing to Charli’s 2025 Grammy Awards performance.
