Charli XCX is working on her brain.
The “360” singer opened up about her obsession with plastic surgery in a new interview with Vanity Fair, admitting that she’s always researching cosmetic surgery and is “always” thinking about changing her appearance.
“I’m always thinking about how I look and how I can change my face,” the 33-year-old pop star told the magazine in its November cover story, revealing that she frequently visits plastic surgery website RealSelf to explore her options.
“I’m always thinking about what I can do to pull, stretch, and transform my face,” she confessed. “I have to remind myself that maybe I shouldn’t get too carried away.”
She said she had previously had Botox, but had to stop using the wrinkle-reducing injectables because they were interfering with her burgeoning acting career. Her audition tape showed her eyebrows moving in an undesirable direction.
The British musician has seven films in theaters, including The Moment with Alexander Skarsgård and 100 Nights of Hero with Emma Corrin. She also worked on the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights remake, which will be released in theaters next February.
The candid comments come as Charli is basking in the success of her blockbuster album Brat, which took the summer of 2024 by storm and sparked the viral Brat Summer phenomenon.
She recently completed a sold-out Brat Arena tour and married drummer George Daniel in 1975 in an intimate ceremony at London’s Hackney Town Hall in July, followed by a large celebration in Italy last month.
Despite her newfound megastar status, Charlie maintains an unfiltered approach to fame and beauty standards.
“I hate this phrase, but what you see is what you get from me,” she told Vanity Fair. “People think this is some kind of performance, but it’s not.”
Recently, the “Brat” star made headlines when she appeared at the Business of Fashion gala during Paris Fashion Week wearing a sheer peasant dress. She also attended the Balenciaga and Saint Laurent shows.
And just this past weekend, the “Sympathy is a Knife” singer subtly threw some shade at her rumored nemesis, Taylor Swift, when she appeared on last week’s episode of Saturday Night Live wearing a Max’s Kansas City T-shirt during the set of musical guest Role Models.
However, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Charlie refused to comment on Swift’s alleged diss song, “Actually Romantic.”
