The Midwest Princess has a new crown.
Chapel Lawn debuted her new hair colour at a New York City concert this week, dumping her signature fiery red to cascade the brunette curls.
Concert participants made a double take, saying, “Good luck, baby!” The singer took the stage at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, where he spotted four sold-out shows on his “Vision of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things” tour.
27-year-old Roan has launched a new “Do Again Again” against the medieval-inspired set, wearing styled high-cut leather snake snake and latex ruffles by her go-to stylist Genesis Webb.
Missouri natives never eschewed experimenting with beauty. The dramatic drug make-up is the signature of her aesthetic, and she wears a prosthetic pig nose in head-to-toe green body paint on Grammy Awards afterparty and governor’s ball stage.
Still, this latest transformation is amazing as her red curls are synonymous with her brand.
In the video for her new hit, “The Subway,” there is a three-story fake hairy tumbling down the street below, a New York City fire escape. In another scene, she drags down the street, her hair gets caught up in the taxi door, making her distinctive colour an integral part of the visual story.
Swapping them into waist-length chestnut mane marks a large reset.
The singer, who won the best new artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards, is set to perform four more shows in the coming weeks, and will be the first to stop in her native Missouri before traveling to Pasadena, California.
And if her hair changes are a hint, fans can expect more twists ahead of the tour before wrapping.
