Channing Tatum will take on stage with The Oscar Isaac and Zazie Beats in “Cockroch.”
The film is an adaptation of a novel by William Rashner, who wrote under the pen name Tyler Knox. Matt Ross, the filmmaker behind “Captain Fantastic,” directs from a script written by Jonathan Ames (“Diet to Bore”). Andrew Lazar (“American Sniper”) produces under his Mud Chance Production banner. The main photos are scheduled to begin in Australia in January.
Blickem represents international rights, while CAA Media Finance and Scope Select jointly expresses US rights. The film will be featured to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival next week.
Tatum is in Toronto for the premiere of his next film, Derek Cianfrance’s “Roofman.” He will also be awarded the Festival Performer Award. Tatum recently wrapped up Marvel Studios and Disney’s “Avengers: Doomsday.” His credits include the “Jump Street” and “Magic Mike” franchises, “Fox Catcher”, “Dear John” and “The Vow.”
Isaac will be the next starring Guiller Modelro’s “Frankenstein,” which will premiere the world at the Venice International Film Festival and will be screened in Toronto. His other films include “Ex Machina,” “Dune,” “Inside Llewyn Davis,” and the latest “Star Wars” trilogy.
Beetz is an Emmy-nominated actress known for her role in the hit FX series “Atlanta.” Her films include Deadpool 2, Joker, and The Harder They Fall. She will then star alongside Liev Schreiber and Stephen Graham in a new series on Apple TV+ based on Lars Kepler’s crime novel.
