Kim Bo, the famous hairstylist who worked with the likes of Paris Hilton and Tori Spelling, has passed away after a battle with colorectal cancer. He was 55 years old.
On Saturday, Vo’s husband Adeel Khan shared the shocking news on Instagram.
“My beloved husband, best friend, partner in life and business, Kim Bo, has passed away,” the celebrity fashion stylist captioned the post.
“Diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2018, he fought bravely under the care of Dr. Lawrence Pirro and his amazing team at Angeles Clinic and Cedars-Sinai, winning many battles along the way and exceeding all medical expectations,” Khan added.
“Ultimately, God decided it was time for the angels on earth to go home.”
Khan said her husband is “loved not only by his family and friends, but also by the global hair community and millions of viewers who have come to know him for both his artistry and warmth.”
“Kim had the rare ability to make everyone feel noticed, welcomed and at home,” he added/
Khan asked people to donate to the Kim Bo Foundation to “support hair, beauty and fashion creators who are also affected by cancer.”
“Our initial efforts will be focused on advocacy and helping our colleagues provide the level of care and treatment that Kim was fortunate to receive,” he wrote.
“This is the legacy that Kim and I will build with your support. We love you, we are here for you, and we will fight for you.”
In the comments section of the post, several stars paid tribute to Vo.
“It’s a shame because he was such a wonderful human being. So full of light and love,” Spelling, 52, wrote.
“Oh my god!!! I owe the iconic Perez pink and all the colors in my world and my rich blonde to Kim. A master of his craft and art! So disappointed! 😢😢😢,” Perez Hilton added.
Emmy-nominated producer Ashley Hammen said in a statement: “I will never forget his kindness and the special feeling I felt when he walked into the salon door. May he fly high with his angels. I feel so lucky to have known him and send my prayers of healing to all the hearts that loved him.”
Vo has been the go-to colorist for many A-listers including Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears, Pamela Anderson, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, and Uma Thurman.
He also appeared as a judge on Bravo’s “Shear Genius,” worked behind the scenes on “Extreme Makeover” and starred in Paramount+’s “Blowing LA.”
