CBS Media Ventures has announced its syndication slate for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, including eight renewed titles and three new titles.
Returning programs include “Entertainment Tonight,” which was renewed for a 46th season just as NBCUniversal terminated its contract with major competitor “Access Hollywood” as part of the company’s decision to exit the first-run business.
In response, CBS Media Ventures sent a message Wednesday saying it’s still in the syndication game, ordering a new law series, “Adam’s Law,” starring Judge Adam Levy. The show is produced by Judge Judy Sheindlin (Levy’s mother). The deal is notable because Sheindlin ended Judge Judy in 2021 in a somewhat acrimonious break with The Eye and launched a new show on Amazon. (CBS Media Ventures continues to distribute reruns of “Judge Judy,” but it also continues to produce and distribute “Hot Bench,” which Sheindlin created.)
“Adam’s Law” is one of two new series scheduled to be distributed by CBS Media Ventures, along with “American Mayhem,” which is described as a “high-energy, extreme video show.”
“American Mayhem” is produced by V10 Entertainment, which also produces ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” CBS Media Ventures has secured the rights to distribute off-net episodes of the Alfonso Ribeiro-era “AFV,” which were listed on CBS Media Ventures’ fall schedule.
Meanwhile, CBS Media Ventures has renewed “Entertainment Tonight,” which will continue to be hosted by Kevin Frazier and Nichelle Turner, as well as the daily news magazine “Inside Edition,” hosted by Eva Pilgrim, for a 39th season.
On the game show front, “Flipside,” hosted by Jaleel White, returns for season three, and newcomer “The Perfect Line,” hosted by Deborah Norville, returns for season two.
As previously announced, daytime talker ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ was recently renewed for a second season. And the game produced by Sony is “Jeopardy!” “Wheel of Fortune,” which was the source of a legal battle between CBS and the studio, will continue to be distributed by CBS throughout the 2027-2028 television season.
“From popular franchises to blockbuster new series, this upcoming schedule reflects the tremendous momentum across our portfolio and our continued commitment to providing the highest level of original programming to our stations and partners,” said John Budkins, executive vice president of programming and syndicated production at CBS Media Ventures and Stations. “With seven of the top 10 most-watched first-run syndicated titles currently on the air, we are proud to continue producing and distributing a wide range of high-quality programming to our viewers that will provide them with engaging, proven entertainment in seasons to come.”
