Days before her death, Catherine O’Hara missed early filming for Season 2 of “The Studio.”
Production sources told US Sun Friday that the Apple TV show began filming the new season last week, and O’Hara will appear in some scenes.
“She was scheduled to shoot, but the schedule was rearranged to focus on scenes that did not involve her character,” a source said.
The producers reportedly changed things for her due to “personal issues.”
A source said: “It was little known that she had health problems or serious problems.”
Production sources believe O’Hara never had the opportunity to film any scenes for season two.
“Her death was a complete shock to everyone on the show,” the source added. “She was the most beloved person on set.
“This is a great loss not only to The Studio, but to the entire world. She is a legend.”
In the series, O’Hara played Patti Lee, a Hollywood executive who began making films after her headline-grabbing ouster.
She co-starred with Seth Rogen, who also created the show, as well as Chase Suey Wonders, Ike Barinholtz, and Kathryn Hahn. Other guest stars include Martin Scorsese, Bryan Cranston, and Zoe Kravitz.
For this role, O’Hara was nominated for an Emmy Award, a SAG Award, and a Golden Globe Award.
Rogen recently gushed about working with O’Hara and the rest of the cast in an Instagram slideshow on January 11, writing, “It takes a village.” The first photo was a behind-the-scenes shot of Rogen and O’Hara on set.
The “Schitt’s Creek” alum passed away Friday at her home in Los Angeles after a “short illness,” her agency Creative Artists Agency confirmed in a statement to Page Six. She was 71 years old.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the call at the Home Alone star’s home at 4:48 a.m. local time and later transported him to the hospital in “serious” condition.
The cause of her death has not yet been determined, but she suffered from a rare condition called inversion, where all organs appear on opposite sides of the body.
