Almost a year before her death, Catherine O’Hara jokingly faced her own mortality.
That moment happened in March 2025, when “The Studio” actress and co-stars Chase Sui Wonders, Seth Rogen, Kathryn Hahn and Ike Barinholtz were interviewed by the Los Angeles Times.
“As an actor, do you feel you at least have a voice, if not power?” journalist Matt Brennan asked the group, to which O’Hara joked, “That’s how I’ve been treated lately. Am I going to die or something?”
O’Hara’s co-stars burst out laughing.
Prior to that, in 2024, the “Beetlejuice” star gushed in an interview with Elle Canada that he was “lucky to be alive.”
“I’m lucky to be able to continue doing this at my age. It’s unbelievable,” she told the magazine in August 2024.
“Over the last few years, when I start feeling scared or nervous or complaining about something, I’ve really tried to practice redirecting it and being thankful.”
“For example, ‘How lucky are you to be alive right now? And to have this opportunity at this moment?'”
She also confessed that she was “nervous” about the publication’s cover shoot, saying, “How crazy is it to be wearing these clothes and lying on this pool at my age?”
Elsewhere in an interview for her role on “The Studio,” she said: “I play a studio head who becomes an independent producer. How cool is it that someone my age is doing this? That’s the way it should be.”
