In the case, Cardi attempted to clear her name after security guard Emmani Ellis sued her for $24 million. Ellis claimed that Cardi cut her cheek with her 3-inch nails and spit out as the rapper left the obstetrician’s office in 2018.
During the incident, Cardi allegedly claimed that Ellis had invaded her privacy and that she had photographed her on her cell phone as she left the office. At the time, Cardi was pregnant with her and Offset’s first child, Kurcha Chiari Sefas, but that was not public knowledge.
Cardi escaped assault at trial and was celebrated by uploading a video of herself dancing to her upcoming song “Bodega Buddy” in Tiktok. She threw away Valentino’s pants while she was getting worse with the song.
“What comes out of court is 💃🎉#bodegabaddie,” she captioned the video.
“I work all day and I work hard for the money, my kids, and the people who care,” Cardi said following the trial, according to the BBC. “So you don’t think you’re going to sue me. I’m just going to calm down.”
Cardi’s Valentino outfit is far from the only fashionable look in court.
