Nothing says “forward” like a $500,000 watch.
Cardi B splurged on a $500,000 Audemars Piguet watch from Benny the Jeweler days after rumors of her breakup with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs spread after the team lost in the Super Bowl.
“Here’s a little present from me,” the 33-year-old rapper announced in an Instagram post by Reel Benny on Monday, while trying on a pair of flashy pieces: a sheer black minidress and thigh-high crocodile boots.
She bought wrist candy “to properly prepare for the tour,” adding, “I’d love to see you all on tour.”
The Grammy Award winner’s Little Miss Drama Tour kicked off Wednesday in Palm Desert, Calif., and fans couldn’t help but notice the spot-on timing of her retail therapy.
“If Pretty & Petty were people 😂😂😂😂 Go Girl!!!!!!,” one Instagram user commented, “I think this was a gift for Stefon but he can’t act right so he kept it for himself lol,” another user chimed in.
This watch — Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted Gold Double Balance Wheel Openwork — has an 18K white gold case and bracelet with a rainbow bezel set with baguette-cut multicolored gemstones. It will be released in 2022 and sells for $477,000 on the resale market.
Benny, whose A-list clients include Ice Spice, Usher and Mary J. Blige, flew from New York to San Francisco to personally deliver the piece.
“I got a new one. Frosted, 41mm,” the famous jeweler said in the video. “I flew to San Francisco to deliver it.”
The self-love buyout came after Cardi B and Diggs, 32, unfollowed each other on Instagram following Sunday’s Patriots’ 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
But even before the team took the field, Diggs seemed to have problems. When an ESPN reporter asked Cardi if she had any words of encouragement for her boyfriend ahead of the Super Bowl, she simply said, “Good luck,” and walked away.
The “WAP” artist made a cameo appearance at Bad Bunny’s halftime show, wearing a corset and thigh-high gladiator heels. She reportedly withdrew from the match early amid tensions despite planning a $1.2 million celebration for Diggs and attending the match with family and friends.
“There’s no way Diggs could screw this up and lose the Super Bowl the same day 😂😂😂😂,” one particularly harsh commenter quipped on the watch reveal, while another added, “Someone had to take the trophy home.”
The former couple gave birth to a son in November 2025, months after announcing their relationship at an NBA playoff game at Madison Square Garden in May. Cardi has three children, Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 1, with her estranged husband Offset, and filed for divorce in 2024.
Mr. Diggs has four children with four different women in 2025.
