Cardi B confessed to poor hair hygiene in a social media video.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper recently appeared on Instagram Live wearing what appeared to be a wig cap, revealing that it was the first time he had washed his hair in months.
In the clip, which was later reshared by
“There’s probably all kinds of cockroach eggs, mosquito eggs, all this bitch in here,” she said, pointing to her head.
Elsewhere in the video, the 33-year-old rapper shared her hair plan.
“I’m going to get my real hair done tomorrow, so I have to oil my scalp,” she revealed. “I’m going to wash it and braid it around Wednesday.”
Some netizens were horrified by X’s graphic confession. One person wrote: “It really makes me puke,” while another added: “Imagine the smell.”
Some took the “WAP” hitmaker’s so-called confessions at face value.
One commenter said: “Believe anything and run away,” while another agreed: “I wonder which is funnier: her making fun of herself or believing this is real lol.”
Some asked yet another question. “Okay, but who asked, Cardi?” one follower asked, while another wrote, “I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. Doesn’t it get itchy if I don’t?”
The pregnant songstress – who is currently expecting her fourth child, her first with Stefon Diggs – is not the first celebrity to raise eyebrows for questionable hygiene practices.
“I use soap, but I don’t wash my hair. I wash it every two months,” talk show host James Corden said on a 2022 episode of The Late Late Show, adding, “That’s true.”
Jake Gyllenhaal has admitted that he doesn’t think regular bathing is “necessary” in 2021.
“Sometimes I started to feel like the need to bathe was fading,” the “Brokeback Mountain” star said at the time.
Also in 2021, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard revealed that they wait for their daughters Lincoln and Delta to “smell” before giving them a bath, after Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher revealed that they only bathed toddlers Wyatt and Dimitri when they “visible dirt.”
Ironically, Cardi B took to Twitter at the time to express regret over her apparent reluctance to take a bath. “Did you get into a big fuss with people saying they don’t shower? I’m itchy,” the rapper tweeted via X.
