Brooks Nader hits the beach.
The “Love Thy Nader” star, “Dancing With the Stars” alum and former Sports Illustrated model is the latest to join the cast of FOX’s “Baywatch” reboot, which will air during the 2026-2027 broadcast season.
Nader will star opposite Stephen Amell, who plays main character Hobie Buchannon, while Jessica Belkin, Hussie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, and original series star David Chokachi will return as Cody Madison.
Nader is a series regular, playing Selene, the poisonous captain of Zuma Beach’s lifeguards.
“While she is great at her job, she has a very different approach to saving lives than Baywatch Captain Hobie Buchannon, which is a constant source of friction,” the character’s description reads. “It’s never been a good relationship. After Hobie brings his daughter Charlie to the team, their relationship only worsens…and it becomes clear that their rivalry runs much deeper than lifeguarding.”
The “Baywatch” reboot is gearing up to shoot this spring in Los Angeles, between famed Venice Beach and the Fox Studios property in Century City, thanks to a $21.1 million tax credit from the state of California.
The new Baywatch, the sequel to the seaside juggernaut starring David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, is show-run by Matt Nix, who serves as executive producer along with pilot director McG, Michael Burke, Greg Bonnan, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. It is a co-production between Fox and Fremantle.
The series takes place several years after the original Baywatch, with wild boy Hobie Buchannon succeeding his father Mitch (played by Hasselhoff in the original) as a ship’s captain. Hobie’s world is turned upside down when the daughter he never knew, Charlie (Belkin), shows up at his door hoping to carry on the family legacy.
In February, Fox hosted a major public casting call for “Baywatch,” auditioning 2,000 would-be lifeguards and beachgoers. Variety had a front row seat and interviewed aspiring actors and the people behind the reboot.
Nader is represented by Lee Fiedler, chief brand officer of WME, Dixon Talent, and Nader Sisters.
