Brooks Nader admitted that his struggle with “confidence” led him to use weight loss drugs.
“I still have confidence in myself and strive for that every day. It’s different now,” she told Us Weekly Wednesday.
When asked if she would ever stop taking GLP-1 drugs, the model said: “So I think it’s a case of learning and trial and error.”
“I fluctuate like everyone else, so it depends,” she added.
Viewers watched the 28-year-old Nader struggle with addiction to weight loss drugs on the reality show “Love Thy Nader.”
Ms. Brooks’ three sisters, Sarah Jane Nader, Grace Ann Nader, and Mary Holland Nader, were so “concerned” about her “concerns” about her GLP-1 usage that they even intervened.
In episode 7, the brothers sit Brooks down after Grace Ann and Mary Holland find a large quantity of hypodermic needles and bottles of GLP-1 drug in their apartment.
“Just seeing all the needles piled up in one place tells you how deep she was putting them in. This is definitely a different doctor. This is a different pharmacy,” Mary Holland argued.
“It’s dangerous. She’s being overprescribed. This amount is very worrying,” she added.
Sarah Jane, who also admitted to having taken weight loss drugs in the past, said she believed there was “something deeper going on” with Brooks.
The “Dancing with the Stars” alum immediately braced herself.
“Why do you think I’m wearing GLP-1? Because it’s like every job I do has to fit certain standards and certain measurements, and for all these new fashion jobs I’m having in Paris and Milan, they’re straight up measuring my hips,” the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model pointed out.
“There are requirements that I don’t meet. And I know how empty this industry is. If I say no, they’ll just choose someone else.”
At the beginning of the episode, Brooks’ sisters discover Brooks unconscious in the bathtub after an exercise class with Grace Ann, with Brooks claiming, “I didn’t eat last night, and I didn’t eat anything today.”
“In the modeling industry, there’s an incredible amount of pressure to be a model. I felt it, everyone feels it, but Brooks puts unrealistic pressure on himself to maintain his appearance,” Grace Anne heartbreakingly revealed.
In her confessional, Brooks admitted that “this industry has led me to have an unhealthy relationship with weight and food,” but insisted she did not have an eating disorder.
