Brooklyn Beckham has reached a point of no return in his feud with his famous parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.
“There was a huge rift in trust,” an insider told Page Six of the breaking point. It happened “last week” — just days before the chef released his bombshell statement to his family.
“From Brooklyn and[wife]Nicola[Peltz’s]point of view, they’ve done everything they can to privately mend their relationship with David and Victoria, and they’ve tried to talk and meet with them, but at the end of the day, they just can’t trust them anymore.”
Brooklyn and Peltz were also said to have reached a point of frustration after reading things that were “not true.”
“They had had enough,” the source explained, noting that as the drama escalated in recent months, “this ended up becoming a huge power struggle between two powerful families.”
“The couple no longer want to deal with this issue,” the source added. “They’ve been through it and they just want to move on with their lives. Last week was the final test. They couldn’t take it anymore.”
The professional athlete and fashion designer’s eldest son posted on social media on Monday amid heightened tensions with his parents.
“I don’t want to reconcile with my family,” the 26-year-old chef wrote on his Instagram Story. “I’m not being controlled. For the first time in my life, I’m standing up for myself. My parents have always controlled what was said about our family in the media.”
Brooklyn went on to blame her parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51, for their dissatisfaction with “performative social media posts, family affairs, and a fake relationship.”
“I recently saw with my own eyes the lengths to which they go to protect their own facade and feed countless lies to the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people,” Brooklyn wrote.
He also claimed that his parents were “endlessly trying to ruin” his relationship with his wife, 31, whom he married in a lavish wedding in Florida in 2022.
Brooklyn went on to claim that the former Spice Girl “was so looking forward to wearing her design that Nicola canceled the production of her (wedding) dress at the 11th hour, leaving her scrambling to find a new one.”
Before the wedding, Brooklyn accused her parents of “repeatedly” pressuring her and “attempting to bribe” him into “revoking the rights” to her name.
He wrote that his “put up affected my payday” and claimed that his mother and father “never treated me the same way since then.”
Brooklyn revealed that Victoria hijacked the couple’s first dance “in front of 500 wedding guests,” as Page Six reported last May.
“She danced on me in a very inappropriate way in front of everyone,” Brooklyn claimed, adding: “I have never felt so uncomfortable or humiliated in my life.”
Brooklyn and his model wife then renewed their vows in August 2025 in order to recapture this moment and “create new memories of their wedding day that will bring them joy and happiness instead of anxiety and shame.”
Without directly mentioning her brothers Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and sister Harper, 14, Brooklyn accused her family of valuing “public promotion and support above all else,” claiming they appeared at “every fashion show, every party, every press event to present ‘our perfect family.'”
In a lengthy screed, Brooklyn blasted the “totally backwards” narrative that “my wife is controlling me.”
Rather, he claimed that he was “controlled by his parents for most of his life” and suffered from “overwhelming anxiety” as he grew up.
“For the first time in my life, since being separated from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” he concluded his statement, adding, “I have found peace and relief.”
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by images, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy, and happiness for ourselves and our future families.”
Representatives for David and Victoria did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Monday.
Rumors of rifts between the families have been constant since the couple tied the knot in April 2022, with the drama culminating in Brooklyn late last year with reports of David, Victoria and Cruise being blocked on social media.
According to the Daily Mail, the photographer told his parents earlier this month that “the only way to contact them is through a lawyer.”
However, sources said earlier this month that David and Victoria were still hopeful of reconciling with their eldest son.
“All they want is to mend their relationship with their son and his wife. They hope and believe they can still get along,” the source said.
