Shawn “Diddy” Combs begged the “mercy” judge in a nearly four-page letter, a day before he was sentenced after a prostitution conviction.
“First and foremost, I would like to apologise and say how deeply I am sorry I am for all the wounds and pains that I have caused others by my actions,” the dishonorable music mogul wrote in a letter obtained on Page 6.
“I have full responsibility and accountability for past mistakes,” he added, explaining, “I made a lot of mistakes” and “I’m no longer running away.”
Combs, 55, said he was “sorry,” admitting that he was “never enough” to “relieve the pain from the past,” and said he was troubled by 2016 hotel surveillance footage.
“My scenes and images of me attacking Cathy are playing over and over again every day,” he insisted. “I literally lost my heart. I put my hands on the woman I loved and was wrong. I’m sorry for that, and it’s always going to happen.”
“I feel honestly sorry for not being able to forgive anyone else. If they put their hands on one of my daughters,” he continued. “That’s why it’s so hard for me to forgive myself. It’s like a deep scar that leaves ugly scars.”
Combs owns to losing himself to “drugs and excess,” and says that being locked up for 13 months “humbled him and broke to his core.”
“Old I died in prison, and my new version of myself has been reborn. The prison will change you, and kill you.
“I ask for today’s mercy, not just for today, but for my children,” he added.
“God blessed seven beautiful children, three sons and four daughters,” Combs continued, referring to love at 34, Justin, 31, Christian “King”, 27, Chance, 19, twins Jesse and Dahlia, 18, and 2.
The rapper explained that he was the “only parent” of his four children, Christian, Quincy, Jesse and Dahlia.
“As a father, I have failed my children,” he said. He admitted that he was “terrified of death” about “expending something another second away” from his children, and “no longer caring about money or fame.”
Combs also said he lives “with the constant threat of being stabbed or losing his life” every day.
The hitmaker claimed that he was “drug-free, non-violent, and (a) committed to the journey of a peaceful person,” and called on the judges for “another opportunity to live a better life.”
Combs, arrested in September 2024, was found guilty of two modes of transportation, engaged in prostitution in July and sexually trafficked and assaulted.
The “Last Night” singer could potentially spend up to 20 years in prison and is currently at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
He continued to maintain his innocence and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
