Brittany Cartwright and Brandon Hanson have broken up after two months of dating.
“As a side note, I’m single. Actually, we didn’t last long,” Cartwright, 36, revealed on the Oct. 10 episode of the podcast “When Reality Hits,” in response to a fan’s question about her “new boyfriend.”
“We were very good friends before we started dating,” she explained. “It was kind of a whirlwind relationship. It came out into the public eye faster than we had hoped.”
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum cited “distance” as the main reason for their separation, admitting that living in a different city from her partner was not sustainable for her.
“Long distance wasn’t an option for me, and he had a lot of obligations with three kids and work,” she said. “We lived three hours away, so it was just too hard to keep going.”
The reality star revealed that she and her now ex-boyfriend “really care about each other” and ended “amicably.”
“Hopefully we can remain friends,” she said. “But I never expected it to continue.”
The mother-of-one also said that remaining single is “best” for her as she “still has a lot of healing and learning to do” from her controversial divorce from Jax Taylor. The divorce has not been finalized yet.
Cartwright filed for divorce from Taylor, 46, in August 2024 after five years of marriage. The former couple have a 4-year-old son, Cruz, who was diagnosed with autism in April. She was granted full custody of him last year.
Cartwright and Hanson made their relationship debut in August when they packed on the PDA while vacationing in Mexico. The two were first spotted at an event in Los Angeles in early August, where they appeared close enough to spark rumors that they were dating.
Hanson is also currently separated, and his estranged wife Jasina Stanko exploded her romance with her “husband” and the “Valley” star on social media just days before their heartwarming vacation photos surfaced.
In a TikTok post about their budding relationship, Stanko wrote, “He’s my husband!!!” She added another comment: “He’s married.”
When a follower joked that Stanko was also “dating” Hanson, she clarified, “I married him. Do you know him?”
Despite her claims, a source exclusively told Page Six that Cartwright’s relationship situation with her then-boyfriend is much more complicated than it seems.
“Brittany’s new relationship came at a time when they were both going through similar life changes,” a source told Us at the time. “Like Brittany, he is contemplating divorce and has been separated from his ex-husband for the past seven months.”
“The two are finding comfort in each other as they work through their respective divorces and changes in their personal lives,” the source concluded.
The Kentucky native revealed the status of her relationship with Hanson last month, telling TMZ, “We’re not technically boyfriend and girlfriend yet,” noting that they have “known each other for 15 years” after meeting in their hometown.
She confessed at the time that “he makes[her]happy,” but that they were “just seeing how things go” and were “focused on having fun.”
