Britney Spears reportedly had a productive conversation with her mother and sons after her DUI arrest.
TMZ reported Thursday that Spears’ mother, Lynne Spears, called Spears as soon as she learned of the arrest. After offering support to her daughter, Lin reportedly had a “positive” and “hopeful” conversation.
According to the newspaper, Britney also spoke to her sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, after her release on Thursday, but has not met any of her family members in person.
Page Six has reached out to Spears’ representatives for comment.
Spears’ relationship with her sons, ex-husband Kevin Federline, has been rocky over the years. She was reportedly hurt that Sean chose not to spend the holidays with her and Jaden last year because he “wasn’t ready to meet halfway.”
Last month, she slammed the family in a scathing post on Instagram.
“To all the family members who have told you (sic) that helping you would make you feel isolated and incredibly alienated…they were wrong. As humans we can forgive, but you must never forget,” she wrote.
“I’m incredibly lucky to be alive to have even had my family treat me for once in my life, but now I’m scared for them,” she added.
Spears was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura County, California, around 9:28 p.m. local time on Wednesday night, Page Six confirmed.
She was released at 6:07 a.m. Thursday, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s inmate records.
Spears, 44, is believed to have been under the influence of a cocktail of drugs and alcohol during her arrest.
It is heard that she was stopped near the Borchard Road exit ramp in Newbury Park for allegedly driving a black BMW at an “unusual speed”.
Additionally, a source close to the pop icon told Page Six that officers found an unknown substance inside her car during her arrest.
Her chemical test results are still pending and the investigation is still ongoing.
Page Six has also learned that the Grammy-winning singer was “crying and very tearful” during her DUI arrest.
“She was incredibly emotional,” a source exclusively told us. “The last few months have been very difficult.”
Our source says Spears is “embarrassed and embarrassed” by what happened and is “very sorry.”
“She doesn’t want to disappoint anyone, including her fans,” the source added. “The last thing she wants is to be judged in public again.”
Spears’ manager Cade Hudson issued a candid statement after her arrest, calling it a “totally unacceptable and unfortunate incident.”
“Britney intends to take the right steps and abide by the law, and we hope this is the first step in the long-awaited changes that should occur in Britney’s life,” he said in a statement obtained by Page Six. “I hope she gets the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
