Britney Spears is reportedly “in a downward spiral” over ex-husband Kevin Federline’s revealing memoir The singer was caught on video driving erratically after a night out with friends.
Footage obtained by the Daily Mail on Thursday showed the “Toxic” songstress leaving the Red O restaurant in Thousand Oaks and getting into the driver’s seat of a black BMW after several people allegedly tried to stop her.
One onlooker told the magazine that the pop star “almost ran over his friend while pulling out of the parking lot.”
In the video, Spears, 43, is seen swerving into oncoming traffic, including a bike lane, as she heads to her Thousand Oaks mansion.
At one point, she tailgated another vehicle, according to the video.
The Grammy winner was also spotted with something in his mouth when he reached the stoplight.
A source told the outlet that Spears was stuck outside the gate of her home for about 20 minutes, trying to get inside.
“She entered her keys and drove up to the gate, but it wouldn’t open,” the insider claimed. “She did this three or four times. The friend never got out of the car. After 20 minutes, the friend (left).”
“Britt then took another 10 minutes to successfully gain entry.”
A source told the outlet that the decision to go out comes as Federline’s memoir is “pushing Britney into a corner. She’s stuck in a vicious cycle. Old wounds are being reopened.”
The source added that it was “difficult” for her to have it all back in the news.
“She’s acting. She gets into this spiral and it just goes downhill fast,” the source said.
Spears’ representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six for comment.
The “Gimme More” singer’s night out comes after Federline, 47, released her memoir “You Thought You Knew” on Oct. 20.
The former dancer made some damning claims about the hitmaker, whom he was married to from 2004 to 2007 and with whom he shares sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Among several allegations, Ms. Federline claimed that she woke up to find Ms. Spears watching her sons asleep with a knife in her hand, and that she took cocaine while breastfeeding her sons.
He also warned that the pop star’s “erratic behavior” is worse than what appears on the surface.
But Spears slammed Federline, accusing him of “constant gaslighting” and “toxic” claims.
“Believe me, the white lies told in that book go straight to the bank, and the only one really hurt here is me,” she wrote via X.
She also commented on her relationship with her sons, adding: “I will always love my boys and if you really knew me, you wouldn’t care about the tabloid reports about my mental health or my drinking.”
The singer’s representatives also pointed out that the book was published after the child support payments ended and accused Federline of continuing to profit from her.
