Britney Spears has sold the rights to her iconic music catalog in a major music deal, a Page Six investigation has learned.
The Grammy Award winner released his stake to Primary Wave, a private music publishing company based in New York City, on Dec. 30, according to documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday.
Sources told the outlet that the “groundbreaking deal” is estimated to be worth as much as the $200 million check Justin Bieber received when he sold his catalog in 2022.
Sources said Spears, 44, was happy and celebrating with her two sons, Sean Preston Federline, 20, and Jayden James Federline, 19.
A representative for the Princess of Pop did not immediately respond to Page Six for comment.
Meanwhile, the sale included some of the pop star’s biggest hits, including songs from her 1999 debut album “…Baby One More Time.”
Additionally, a fourth studio album, “In The Zone,” which included the 2003 song “Toxic,” was also included in the deal.
After releasing “Toxic,” Spears won her first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2005.
The deal also included Spears’ songs from the late 1990s and early 2000s, including “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” “…Baby One More Time,” “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “Everytime,” “Piece of Me,” “Hold It Against Me” and “Gimme More.”
It’s not uncommon for musicians to sell music videos, and Spears followed in the footsteps of Stevie Nicks, Shakira, Kiss, Bruce Springsteen, Phil Collins, and Bob Dylan.
The hitmaker’s big business deal comes after she vowed in January 2024 to “never (return) to the music industry.”
Spears, who held the sponsorship position for 13 years from 2008 to 2021, released her last album, Glory, in 2016 and her final collaboration, Mind Your Business, in 2023.
Her last performance was on the “Piece of Me” tour in 2018 in Austin, Texas.
Although the hitmaker has taken a personal break from music, she is reportedly helping her son Jaden with his music career.
“She’s been helping him connect with producers he’s worked with in the past,” a source told Us Weekly last month. “She wants him to use his existing relationships to protect and guide her.”
A source said Spears “loves” the teenager’s style and “thinks he has a very fresh sound,” adding: “She’s very proud of him and all the work he’s clearly passionate about.”
The “Circus” singer has a son with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
