Britney Spears has entered rehab after being arrested for drunk driving last month.
A representative for Spears confirmed to Page Six on Sunday that Spears voluntarily entered a treatment facility.
This new development comes weeks after he was arrested on drunken driving charges in Ventura, California.
She is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
She has been supported in recent weeks by her sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19.
Officials said Spears’ arrest came as a wake-up call.
At the time of the arrest, a source exclusively said the 44-year-old singer was “incredibly emotional.”
Our source says Spears is “embarrassed and embarrassed” by what happened and is “very sorry.”
“The last few months have been very difficult,” a source said.
News of her decision to enter a rehab facility was first reported by Celebrity Intelligence with Dan Wakeford.
On March 4, Spears was seen swerving in and out of traffic lanes and taken into custody. An unknown substance was also allegedly found in her car during her arrest, and she is believed to have been under the influence of a cocktail of alcohol and drugs.
She was released the next morning, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrest records.
A spokesperson for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office told the California Post, “The DUI case against Britney Spears has been submitted to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and is being reviewed by prosecutors.”
Late last month, Spears broke her silence about the arrest by sharing a video of herself and Jaden on Instagram.
“Thank you everyone for your support…time spent with family and friends is such a blessing!” Spears wrote.
The “Toxic” singer recently shared a video of a yacht trip with her two sons.
She spent Easter Sunday with unlikely celebrity friends: songwriter Diane Warren and actress Molly Shannon.
