‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Jordan Wright has died. He was 33 years old.
The British reality TV star was found dead in a drain in Thailand on March 14, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday.
The newspaper reported that the body of a British man was found face down in stagnant water by Burmese workers near Phuket’s Bang Tao Beach at around 12:30pm local time on Saturday.
At the time of his death, Wright was wearing a gray T-shirt and black pants, but was barefoot.
Authorities reportedly found his brand new iPhone 17 at a nearby bank, and in his pocket was a key card for the COCO Phuket Bangtao hotel, a 20-minute walk from where it was found.
Superintendent of Choeng Thale District Police Station Stirak Chuthong also confirmed to the Daily Mail that hotel staff had been trying to contact Mr Wright after he “did not check out” of the room he was supposed to check out on March 13.
A search of the hotel room found “no signs of forced entry or other foul play.”
However, “surveillance camera footage showed him becoming restless and pacing back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area. His movements eventually led to the location where his body was later found.”
“We are still waiting for the autopsy results from Vasila Phuket Hospital to determine if there were any drugs in his system,” Chuthong added.
Inspector Stirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale Police Station said Wright was believed to have been dead for less than two days when he was found.
“The case remains under investigation pending official autopsy results,” he added, adding that the cause of death could not yet be announced.
Wright rose to fame after appearing in episode 8 of Ex on the Beach in 2017 and episode 17 of TOWIE in 2018.
However, he is said to have been sacked from ITV after rumors spread that he took sick leave from the London Fire Brigade to film the show.
Wright later quit reality TV and returned to work as a firefighter.
However, according to LinkedIn, he recently left his career behind to become a financial investor and moved to Thailand to start a new life.
In December 2025, he shared an Instagram carousel with several shots of himself in Phuket, captioning it: “It’s going to be a very exciting year ahead 😊🇹🇭🇹🇭.”
By January, he announced that he had officially moved to Thailand, calling the country “home” in his last Instagram post earlier this month.
