Not only will Rose Byrne come to Oscar night with her first nomination for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, she’ll also be reuniting with her Bridesmaids co-stars.
Sources say a Bridesmaids reunion is planned for the ceremony, including Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy. Final details are currently being worked out.
The occasion will mark the 15th anniversary of the hit comedy’s release. “Bridesmaids,” directed by Paul Feig, was written by Wiig and Annie Mumolo.
McCarthy won the first of two Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actress. Wiig and Mumolo were nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
As Variety previously reported, Barbra Streisand is in talks to perform at the Oscars in honor of her The Way We Were co-star Robert Redford.
Sources said Streisand was “in talks” to sing in the memorial section of the ceremony. It has not yet been determined whether the “In Memoriam” segment will be a solo performance by Streisand or will include other artists.
Billy Crystal will lead a tribute performance to Rob Reiner, and other stars from the late director’s films, including Meg Ryan, will also appear on stage at the same time.
Presenters scheduled for the 98th Academy Awards include Paul Mescal, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Will Arnett, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Adrien Brody, Javier Bardem, Kieran Culkin, Chase Infinity, Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Saldaña, and Rudolph.
The Oscar ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will be held on March 15th at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC and streamed on Hulu.
