Three new police body camera videos related to Taylor Frankie Paul’s 2023 reckless arrest capture the emotional aftermath of the Hulu star being taken into custody.
The first video, filmed the day after the pair’s big fight on February 18, 2023, begins with an officer from the Herriman, Utah, police department calling Paul’s ex, Dakota Mortensen.
In a video obtained by TMZ, Mortensen, 33, told officers how Paul threw a metal barstool, which deflected and hit her then-5-year-old daughter Indi, who was sitting on a nearby couch.
“You can hear me trying to check on (Indy) and every time I tried to help her, I was attacked,” Mortensen told officers. “That’s why I couldn’t do it.”
Another video, also obtained by TMZ and dated February 18, 2023, shows a Herriman Police Department officer calling Mortensen to ask if Paul, 31, urinated on his car ride home the night before.
Mortensen claims Paul stopped the car twice to go to the bathroom, at which point the officer explained that it was “very common” for suspected domestic violence victims to “pee on themselves.”
“If she urinated on herself, it was because she was very drunk,” Mortensen added.
A third video obtained by the outlet, dated February 24, 2023, follows two police officers as they return to her home in Paul, Utah, to retrieve one of her metal bar stools as evidence.
Officers told Paul that prosecutors had ordered him to take possession of a “weapon” and to document the damage to her home caused by a fight between her and Mortensen the week before.
“Are you super bad?” Paul asks the cops inspecting the aftermath of the fight about her legal issues.
“Well, no one died, so it can’t be that bad, right?” one of the officers replies. “But that’s not a good thing, it’s definitely not a good thing.”
Another police officer added: “This is not the end of the world. We will get through it, trust me. I would like to use this as a very good learning lesson. If you need help with anything, please help.”
Page Six previously obtained emotional arrest footage from the night Paul was arrested.
The case begins on the night of February 17, 2023, when Herriman Police Department officers responded to a domestic violence call at Paul’s home shortly after Paul and Mortensen’s shocking fight.
When Paul is taken out onto the porch, the officers return inside and question Mortensen about the night’s events.
Body camera footage also shows Mortensen sitting in the car and asking the officer if he could take Paul to jail instead.
However, officers explained that Paul was determined to be the “primary perpetrator” and would be charged with domestic violence.
The footage then shows Paul in handcuffs.
Paul ultimately pleaded guilty to one felony count of aggravated assault in connection with the incident, but the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor once he finishes his three-year probation.
Additional charges, including two felony counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child and one misdemeanor count each of child abuse and criminal mischief, were dismissed.
However, her and Mortensen’s 2023 fight resurfaced last week after TMZ released footage of the altercation.
ABC canceled Paul’s season of The Bachelorette just days before it aired following the leaked video, and the Secret Lives star also lost custody of his 2-year-old son Ever.
Paul has two children, Indy and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul. She shares Ever with Mortensen.
