“Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show” and 10 new “Bluey” minisodes are coming to Disney+.
A special television version of “Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show” will arrive on the streamer on March 16th. It will feature live performances of all the “Bluey” characters brought to life by world-class puppeteers. In addition, the 10-song Bluey Minisodes, previously available online and in Australia, will be premiered on May 20th.
Minisodes are in short form and produced by Ludo Studio. Highlights include Bluey and his sister Bingo engaging in playful interactions and games that further explore Bluey’s characters and world. The collection includes “Humpty Dumpty”, “Green Bottle”, “Flying Saucers”, “The Tea Party”, “Pea Pod Sausage”, “Old Man McDonald”, “Klaxon”, “Lollipop Song”, “Cinderella” and “Make Mama Laugh”.
“Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show” is an original story by creator Joe Blum and music composed by Geoff Busch. The special is produced by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in association with Ludo Studio, Andrew Kay and Windmill Theater Co, and will be distributed internationally by BBC Studios and executive producers Tom Cousins and Anna Perowne.
As previously announced, the next “Bluey” movie is scheduled to be released in theaters worldwide on August 6, 2027. After its theatrical release, the Bluey movie will be available to stream on Disney+, ABC Iview and ABC Kids in Australia.
Later this month, “Bluey” will join the Disney Experience as part of Disney’s global relationship with BBC Studios, with “Bluey” producer Rude Studios helping with a special fan activation. “It was a great day for Bluey!” celebrates the animated series at the reimagined Fantasyland Theater at Disneyland Park in Anaheim. Now, Bluey’s school has been transformed into a beautiful fun fair where Bluey and his sister Bingo appear throughout the day, along with comedy performers, musicians, and guest stars.
