Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest child was spotted at the Angel Ball held at Cipriani Wall Street last night. Attending a charity gala to raise money for Gabrielle’s Angel Cancer Research Foundation, the 13-year-old wore a floor-length baby pink gown with feathered sleeves and matching pink kitten heels. She accessorized with diamond jewelry and wore her light brown braids pulled into a high ponytail. She didn’t walk the red carpet, but attended with her grandmother, Tina Knowles, who received the charity award.
Beyoncé shared a photo of her daughter and Knowles at the event on Instagram, with the unusual caption: “Congratulations mom on the philanthropy award tonight at Angel Ball ❤️.”
After the celebration, Knowles shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, writing: “Last night was magical. I received a philanthropy award from the Gabriel Angell Foundation, who raise money for cancer research. Thank you to all the amazing doctors who donate their time and talent to finding new treatments that save lives and help families affected by cancer.”
“I dedicate this award to my beautiful friend Debbie Cohen, who I lost to cancer three years ago. She was a research warrior. I will miss her so much. Get a mammogram, it saved my life. Please support organizations like Gabriel’s Angels ❤️”
Earlier this year, Knowles revealed that she had previously been diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.
At the time, she told People magazine, “I struggled with whether or not to share that journey[in my memoir, Patriarch]because it’s such a private thing. But I decided to share it because I think it holds a lot of lessons for other women. And as women, I think sometimes we can be so busy and run around like crazy, but we have to go get tested, because if I hadn’t gotten tested sooner, I shudder to think about what could have happened to me.”
Last night, Knowles was joined by Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams to present her with the award. Knowles posted a clip of Williams on Instagram, writing: “My Beautiful Michelle My Belle @michellewilliams took a night off from her hit ‘Death Becomes Her’ and came to present me with an award last night! I love her so much ❤️.”
