Blake Lively claims she has lost a staggering $161 million due to a smear campaign waged against her during the release of It Ends With Us.
According to Variety, the actress’ lawyer claims she has lost millions of dollars due to her defamation. The loss is listed as $56.2 million in past and future earnings from acting, producing, speaking engagements, and endorsements. $49 million loss on her hair care line Blake Brown. And her beverage company, Betty Buzz/Betty Booze, lost $22 million.
Her lawyers also claim she is owed at least $34 million in reputational damage, according to the report.
The actress claims she suffered $161 million in damages, and her lawyers are seeking punitive damages of at least three times that amount.
The numbers come from disclosures provided to the defense in July after Ms. Lively filed her lawsuit on December 31, 2024.
Lively’s attorney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The Gossip Girl alum is embroiled in an ongoing lawsuit against It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, alleging sexual harassment during filming for the 2024 drama. Mr. Baldoni vehemently denied the accusations.
She is also accusing Baldoni’s public relations team of masterminding a smear campaign against her in the wake of Baldoni’s accusations. Her complaint against social media public relations expert Jed Wallace was dismissed in July.
Baldoni countersued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds in January for extortion and defamation. However, a judge dismissed the $400 million lawsuit in June.
The counterclaim ended last week when U.S. District Judge Louis Lehman, who is overseeing the case, issued a final ruling that Mr. Baldoni and his co-plaintiffs had refused to file an amended complaint against Mr. Lively and Mr. Reynolds.
Lehman said he contacted all parties in mid-October to warn them he would issue a final judgment to close the case, noting that Lively was the only one to respond.
The actress asked to continue her claim for legal costs, which Lehman granted.
Baldoni’s attorney, Brian Friedman, told Page Six that Baldoni and his team at Wayfarer Studios intentionally chose not to file an amended complaint.
“We missed the deadline,” Friedman stressed. “Our client has chosen not to amend the complaint in order to preserve his right to appeal.”
“In the meantime, we are focused on Ms. Lively’s claims,” Friedman added.
He also said he and his team “remain committed to pursuing the truth through all legal and factual avenues” and “look forward to our day in court.”
