Director James Cameron announced Monday that the release of Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft, the 3D concert documentary he co-directed with Eilish, has been pushed back two months to May 8 via Paramount.

“We’re revamping the cut, incorporating cool new 3D technology and adding special behind-the-scenes features you’ll love. @hitmehardandsoftmovie will be released on Friday 8th May. It’s worth the wait!” Cameron wrote in a thread and on Instagram.

On the final night of the tour in November, Eilish said, “This is one of my favorite tours, and being able to film it and co-direct this film with[James Cameron]was an absolute dream come true.” “I can’t wait for everyone to see it.” Release was scheduled for March 20th.

The documentary, produced in partnership with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films and Lightstorm Earth, was filmed at concerts including Manchester, England, last July. Eilish said at the time: “Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very special with a guy named James Cameron, and it’s going to be made in 3D. So take that as you like. And this. These four shows in Manchester, you and I are part of what I’m creating with him. He’s somewhere in this audience just saying, ‘Don’t worry about it, and I’ll probably be wearing this exact costume.’ It was like four days in a row,” she explained to the audience.

Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ashes” topped the domestic box office charts for the first three weekends in January, and took second place last weekend with $7 million. “Fire and Ash” grossed $378 million in North America and $1.378 billion worldwide in six weeks.

He also acquired the rights to Charles Pellegrino’s novel Ghosts of Hiroshima with the intention of directing the film adaptation.
