Miles Morales will return to the theater a week before schedule.
The third installment of Sony’s animated web sling trilogy, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” was released on June 18, 2027. The Marvel adaptation was previously scheduled for June 25th. In the new spot, “Spider-Verse” will open on two holidays, Father’s Day and Junteenth. A week after Universal’s live-action “How to Train Dragon 2,” it lands on the same day as Disney’s animated adventure, Gut.
“Beyond the Spider-Verse” concludes the trilogy that began with “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” in 2018 and “Spider-Man: Arient the Spider-Verse” in 2023. The series focuses on Miles Morales, a high school student from Brooklyn. He becomes the new Spider-Man and joins other Spider-People from parallel universes to save New York City and other multinational locales from various threats. It has not been revealed that the plot details of the third film has been shown, but the story includes Miles Morales, who is probably facing another crisis.
“We’ve created something that I think is a very satisfying ending. We can’t wait for fans to experience it,” filmmakers Bob Perschatti and Justin K. Thompson said last year when they were announced as co-directors. “We’re bringing everything we have.”
The “Spider-Verse” series was a major box office. In addition to winning the best animation features of the Oscar, it also won $384 million for the original Global. “Beyond Spider-Verse” was even bigger at the box office, surpassing its entire predecessor after just 12 days of release and running at $690 million worldwide.
